Cleanbill 2024 Blue Report – Membership Clinics

As we were compiling the data for our 2023 Blue Report, we came across a phenomenon we hadn’t encountered before: Membership Clinics.

Membership Clinics are GP clinics that bulk bill their non-concession adult patients, but only if those patients pay an initial, yearly or monthly membership fee. 

The prevalence of these clinics in 2023 was fairly minor but, to ensure that we were displaying full pricing information on the clinics we list, we decided that our 2023-24 data collection would need to include an option for these Membership Clinics. So, when we conducted the research for the listings that made up our 2024 Blue Report, this research included a consideration of whether a given clinic is a Membership Clinic. 

The result is this Report; the first in Australian history to observe and comment on the increasingly common phenomenon of Membership Clinics across the country.
