Cleanbill 2024 GP Pricing Analysis Report

About a month ago, Cleanbill released its 2024 Dental Pricing Analysis Report. The Report broke down our national dental listings by locality to investigate trends in billing from area to area. A lot of Australians found this breakdown to be incredibly helpful, as it showed how best to find affordable, available dental care around them.

Which got us thinking.

We have exactly the same data for our national general practice (GP) listings as well. And as bulk billing for non-concession adults becomes rarer and out-of-pocket costs become the primary factor in determining accessibility across much of the country, we felt that the same analysis of GP clinics would help to increase the accessibility of GP care too.

So, we did exactly the same analysis for our GP listings.

Standard and long consultations account for just shy of 80% of all visits to the GP. So, we took the standard and long consultation data we have for the vast majority of GP clinics across the country and split it by Local Government Area (LGA).

This Report shows the geographic trends in bulk billing on an LGA-by-LGA basis, before outlining the LGAs with the highest and lowest average out-of-pocket costs for a GP visit.
